Reebok just announced news of an upcoming collaboration with basketball artist Victor Solomon, best known for inventions through his Literally Balling brand tapped for sage pieces by NBA stars like LeBron James and Kevin Durant. Among a capsule that includes apparel and other extras is an iced-out edition of the Reebok BB4000 II, suited to fit Solomon’s design aesthetic present in his work to date.
Solomon’s Reebok BB4000 II is a clear callback to his recent work with the NBA, the artist tasked with redesigning the NBA Championship’s Larry O’Brien Trophy in 2022. Standout features include premium basketball-textured leather overlays, a perforated jersey-inspired upper and sock liner, and tasteful gold detailing on the shoe’s lace dubrae, eyelets, and lace tips.
In Solomon’s words: “It was an exciting new challenge to take on my first sneaker design. In contributing to a classic basketball silhouette in BB4000 II, I wanted to incorporate signature Molded from my practice, like white leather, basketball pebble textured gold panels, while elevating essential components with luxury materials and bringing a classic jersey pattern to the model with laser-cut leather panels.”
As a premium shoe, the Victor Solomon x Reebok BB4000 II comes with a hefty price tag of $250. The collection will first drop exclusively from LiterallyBalling.com on February 15th, soon followed by a wider Reebok.com release on February 22nd. In the meantime, enjoy official images below.
