The Nike78 Project is officially complete, as all seventy-eight artists have transformed their creative visions into works of art. The entire collection will be showcased at the London Design Festival 2010 but Urlfreeze News will cover the entire capsule in four parts. Each artist was asked to redefine the function of a grey Nike shoe; given a crisp white-on-white pair of Air Maxes, each of the seventy-eight individuals chosen has made their ideas known, from buttery cakes to shoe-shaped fishbowls. One artist went as far as doing…nothing; UK artist Adam Hayes traded his brand new pair of white grey Nike runners to a South London refugee – someone desperate for a new pair of shoes – and showcased the shoes that he received in turn. There’s also an extra special treat for the Bulls fans, paying homage to the ’90’s Chi-Town Bulls. The entire collection will spark your inner artist so check out the first twenty installments of the grey Nike78 Project after the jump.
