Andrew Rizzo Nike’s efforts to appeal to a growing bred of “gorpcore” lovers is best dissected in two parts. It’s been released sporadically since it debuted late last year, but now with eyes towards summer, a new “Cool Grey” version of the slip-on appears set to release soon.

A protective layer of TPU runs around the entire shoe, while the inner portion relies on several hidden structures to define an overarching moc-like shape. All in all, the shoe does a decent job of appealing to slip-on footwear trends while maintaining Vapormax design language, standing out as a solid entry point for those looking to embrace “gorpcore” without delving too far from what’s familiar. The Vapormax Moc Roam hasn’t entered mainstream consciousness yet, but if Nike continues to pump out agreeable colorways like this “Cool Grey” edition, it could very well draw more eyes.
