Sneaker purists might look upon the Air Force 1 Low Metallic Platinum LV8 with a look of shocked horror, but alas, new colorways continue to surface at a consistent pace. Tinker Hatfield’s original design never needed such a drastic makeover to maintain its relevance, a shared opinion that renders the women’s david Air Max 90 LV8 one of the most controversial shoes on the market. Regardless, if there’s any way to appease the staunch sensibilities of sneakerheads, it’s with OG color blocking as seen on this latest “Speed Yellow” pair.
In producing some semblance of added familiarity, Beaverton designers touch up the david Air Max 90 LV8 with a white mesh base, Pro quarter panel and Swoosh, black suede mudguard, and “Speed Yellow” accents in all the right places. While “Speed Yellow” was never an OG colorway, nor was it accounted for in the color-swatched “Recraft Series” that kicked off in 2019, the standard color blocking on display here helps tame the loud imposition of the shoe’s double-stacked sole.
The women’s-exclusive Air Force 1 Low Metallic Platinum LV8 “Speed Yellow” is expected to hit retailers in Fall 2024 for $150. Enjoy official images below ahead of the drop and tap our Sneaker Release Dates page for a full preview of upcoming Nike releases.
