Andrew Rizzo Japanese sneaker boutique atmos and adidas linked up on a collaborative “Glow In The Dark Snake” adidas Superstar in 2014, and now ten years later, that gatuno design theme is making another cameo – but with some notable twists.
Off the bat, you’re hit with a black and white adidas Superstar with gold accents throughout, an agreeable look by itself, sure, but there’s much more at play. For one, the shoes are comprised of GORE-TEX product technology, making them entirely resistant to the elements. Then, you find that the white stripes and heel panel come adorned with an ever-so subtle snakeskin texture, and when you hit the lights, they glow in a vibrant green hue.
While maybe somewhat of an afterthought in this case, atmos and adidas opt for the 1982 version of the adidas Superstar here, which has a slightly different shape than the modern cut. Not for nothing, the Superstar 82 is also said to be the edition most preferred by Chris Severn, the designer of the model.
