By now, most are familiar with the colors that dominate kids’ Air Jordan releases; energetic tonalities are more or less the default in that category (see the undying demand for kids’ Pink Dunks.) Jordan Brand will be offering two "Birmingham Barons" inspired models this year Jordan 1 Mid is fully embracing that concept, brightening up its palette entirely and tacking on vivid “Fire Pink” accents.
A shade off of OG color-blocking, this Air Jordan 1 release falls somewhere in between a “Metallic” and “Heritage” configuration. That is to say, the collar, Swoosh and toe-box are the chief sections where the titular neon pink can be seen. Elsewhere, off-white “Iris Whisper” holds things down, the slightest bit of contrast next to the platinum white that handles the quarter panel and midsole. All told, this shoe delivers plenty of playful energy while maintaining some classic appeal in its foundation.
