Nike x Nigo has easily been one of the biggest stories we’ve tracked since rumors emerged last year, a narrative continuing for more than a year since its inception. Paris Fashion Week gave way to the most partially development yet, a first look a multi-colored Nike OG SB Dunk Low Pro St that wore its retro inspirations loud and proud. This “worlds collide” Nike Nigo OG SB Dunk Low Pro St is inching closer to a release, as the Bathing Ape founder just shared some official Its featuring packaging details.
Fear of God x Nike SS19 initial white-dominant colorway, but this packaging reveal adds depth to the burgeoning storytelling for this capsule. The chief detail in that respect is the very base, bearing cracks filled in with gold in an allusion to the Japanese art of kintsugi.
The explanatory copy reveals that this collection is wide-ranging in terms of where it pulls from, “movies, music and traditions of craft” all displayed throughout its pieces & peripherals. In line with that, the Nike typeface on the box’s face and the gilded branding on the side call to mind 80s action cinema, but more specific touchstones will certainly come about as the two partners get deeper into the promotional effort.
As for the shoes themselves, two colorways have hit the ‘net so far; the aforementioned white multi-color, and a pair that spotlights royal “Blue Void” instead. Either shoe applies a heavy dose of patent leather and a smattering of primary colors as well as co-branded detailing, including a chrome “Nigo Force” logo on the left shoe.
As of writing, no release information has emerged for either Nigo Nike OG SB Dunk Low Pro St, but with Paris Fashion Week bringing concrete developments in March, NYFW in September looms as another hinge point. For now, check out in-hand shots of the “Blue Void” colorway below, with an closer look at its box also included.
