Following the release of L’Art De L’Automobile’s Salomon capsule back in June, a project some deem worthy of “collaboration of the year” praise, sneakerheads have been left anticipating where Arthur Kar will take his talents next. L’Art De L’Automobile has crafted not one, but two Air Force 1 colorways; one inspired by the Porsche L’ART 968, Kar’s modern re-imagination of the German coupe, and another in celebration of the company’s 10th anniversary. Both pairs make use of “Triple Black” for an aesthetic that’s as evergreen as ever, relying on thoughtful details and branding in lieu of color.
Beginning with the 10th anniversary pair, the shoe stands out by way of an additional, circular carbon fiber patch on the heel, complete with intricately stitched branding and a car graphic. Its counterpart takes an ever more simplistic route, distinguished by green “L’art” backtab text, debossed “968” on the lateral forefoot, and a split-up Porsche L’ART 968 graphic across the insoles.
