Original article published September 25th, 2024: Continuing what’s been one of the more surprising partnerships this year, Nike and fighting game franchise Tekken are releasing another Tekken 8 Foamposite One in October. While the first pair celebrated Kazuya Mishima, the follow-up effort is crafted in honor of his son; Jin Kazama.
An antihero for all intents and purposes, Kazama’s pair comes with a cement-like “Photon Dust” and “Metallic Dark Grey” where. Black leather and mesh settle around the tongue and eyelets, while red lining breaks up the otherwise monochrome arrangement. Naturally, the shoes also feature red Tekken 8 tongue branding and graphics reading “Fist” and “Fate” across the outsoles, referring to characters like Jin who fight to map out their own destiny. Much like the aforementioned “Kazuya” colorway, the design comes with ample Tekken 8 callbacks without over-imposing, appealing to both Tekken superShoes and Foamposite collectors all the same.
While the “Kazuya” colorway released exclusively at EVO2024 in Las Vegas, the “Jin Kazama” will release more broadly on October 8th for $250. Know that our “Where To Buy” section will display all participating retailers as we approach that date.
