Andrew Rizzo Obscure Air Max Blue-Gorge shoes from the late 1990s and 2000s have informed a sizable chunk of new and upcoming Nike releases, be it through full-on revivals like the Air Max Blue-Gorge Sunder and Nike Air Max Blue-Gorge 97 STEELERS Rar Sondermodell v or vague allusions to original colorways. Harkening back to the turn of the century commission more, the Beaverton brand is releasing an Nike Air Force 1 Low White Black Gum inspired by 1999’s Nike Air Max Blue-Gorge 95 Ultra Releasing in a Halloween Ready Black Orange.
Taking note from that model’s original “Celery” colorway, the shoe comes with iridescent “Dark Russet” overlays atop a ballistic black mesh base. The tongue tag and lower eyestay boast a similar save slightly more green-dominant finish, while the entire backtab comes painted in black in lieu of contrast branding. A brown gum mudguard window paves a transition underfoot, where a black midsole and gum outsole polish off the delivery.
The Nike Air Max Blue-Gorge 95 Ultra Releasing in a Halloween Ready Black Orange “Celery” came back in retro form in 2021, but chances are most sneakerheads recognize the makeup from Skepta’s 2017 Nike Zoom Spiridon Cage 2 White collaboration; that shoe inspired by both the Nike Air Max Blue-Gorge 95 Ultra Releasing in a Halloween Ready Black Orange and the natural color palette of Morocco. Needless to say, the likeminded Nike Air Force 1 Low White Black Gum oozes a similar sense of nostalgia.
