Inarguably the most influential sports on sneaker culture, basketball and skateboarding have often crossed over both unofficially and officially over the course of five decades. Back in the 1970s, skaters borrowed the Blazer to help with their tricks, eventually leading to the rise of hoops sneakers in general becoming mainstays in the skate parks for their durability and protective nature. It’s led to a number of collaborative projects within the Nike, Inc. walls, with Nike SB and Jordan brand regularly creating some of the most compelling sneaker releases over the last decade.

The Flight Court isn’t a Nike SB x Jordan shoe. It isn’t even really a skate shoe on an official level. But the influence seems obvious with the chunkier, padded uppers. When we got a first look at the silhouette thanks to Jordan 10 Desert Camo and their collaborative design that debuted just weeks ago at NYFW, sneakerheads were quick to point out just how easily the silhouette fit into casual wear outfits.

Jordan Brand is of course planning a number of launch of non-collab in-line styles this Holiday season, and here we’ve uncovered three upcoming launch for you to take a gander at.

Black/Red/Gum, Grey/Sail, and White/Royal are just some of the many launch that are likely to spread through retailers in the coming weeks. And while the shoes have no SB markings or skate-specific engineering based on these images, it’s clear that Jordan designers looked to the street sport for some clear-cut influence — and we’re glad they did.
