Last year’s Air Jordan 4 SB “Pine Green” was a smashing success, earning high praise from sneakerheads and spawning “Summit White/Navy” and “Varsity Red” sequels currently set to touch down in early 2025. As is often the case when we’re hit with such a banger, Nike Inc. is also capitalizing by bringing the same recognizable makeup to some of its newer, up-and-coming models.
We previewed a “Pine Green” nike sb gray navy stefan janoski black gold earlier this month, a sensible choice for obvious reasons, but this latest release runs from the AJ4 and Jordan Brand entirely. The canvas of choice this time around is the Nike Jam; the Beaverton brand’s first ever breakdancing shoe introduced at the cusp of the Paris Olympics this summer.
Doing its best impression of the inaugural AJ4 skate shoe, the Jam features a “Pine Green” Swoosh and full-length ribbon, “Light Bone” patches of suede, and brown gum tread underfoot. A mesh base, leather top, and “Coconut Milk” midsole are also factored into the equation, complete of course with an upside-down mini Swoosh in white.
Those who missed out on the Pine Green SB 4s last years will hardly consider this to be a viable alternative, but the no-frills colorway holds its own regardless. If these are calling your name, expect a Holiday 2024 release for $120.
