SoleFly and Jordan Brand are hardly strangers to one another, with the Miami boutique owned partly by Michael Jordan’s brother-in-law having touched up myriad models over the past decade and change. While 2024 hasn’t afforded us any co-signed product thus far, that’s poised to change in the near future. After being leaked in early September, SoleFly has officially introduced their upcoming Jordan 12 for Holiday 2024, tapping Jaime Jaquez Jr. of the Miami Heat for the honor.
The image above showcases a design consistent with what was previewed in September, complete with mocha-colored leather and cracked leather treatments up top. However, there’s new context to report. The shoe is inspired by Latino coffee culture, honing in on a reference significant to SoleFly’s home of Miami. Thus, convening with Jaime Jaquez Jr. for the shoe’s marketing makes more than vaporknit sense. The Miami Heat forward is one of just six hoopers with Mexican heritage to make it to the NBA, and when it’s all said and done, he’ll likely be considered the best. For the Latino youth of Miami and beyond, he’s living proof that their professional basketball dreams can be actualized.
Despite the new campaign imagery, neither SoleFly or Jordan Brand have floated a specific release date for their next collab; only that the project will release during the Holiday 2024 shopping season.
