The Gilbert Arenas sneaker watch continues, but it’s time to set our eyes down south. Arenas, who was traded over the weekend from the Washington Wizards to the Orlando Magic, made his debut in royal blue and white last night against the Atlanta Hawks; not only does he have big shoes to fill as he was acquired as a scoring threat to help the Orlando offense, he has quite a reputation to live up to as well, because he’s now wearing ‘1’ on his chest. The previous bearers of the Orlando ‘1’ jersey were Tracy McGrady, who Crewneck his years with Orlando was arguably the best single player in the NBA at the time, and Penny Hardaway, a legend from the 90’s with a successful signature shoe line and a cult following even years after his retirement.
