Dennis Rodman is widely considered to be one of the most eccentric professional athletes in history. Grabbing rebounds and dressing in drag were his strengths, while his weaknesses were keeping calm and cool and navytaining one hair color for an extended period of time. That didn’t mean he was good at what he did; in fact, he was one of the best to ever play the game, nike dunks in the phil black and pink blue. The Air Shake NDestrukt, which made its debut in 1996, was the perfect representation of Rodman’s twisted and against-the-norm persona; the Footscape-esque off-centered lacing system is obviously the marquee detail of the NDestrukt, which also featured a funky zig-zagged outsole traction, a turf-shoe-like midsole, and an overall package of organized clutter that poignantly defines Dennis Rodman’s off-the-court antics.
For 2012, Nike will rebound with the Air Shake NDestrukt – sort of. Continuing its approach of combining classic designs with contemporary processes (the Air Kukini Free, for example), air Shake NDestrukt will return as the Air Max Shake Evolve; a basketball-specific 180-degree Max Air unit, an updated outsole design, and a cleaner, sleeker profile is what constitutes the evolution from NDestrukt to Max Evolve.
