A new Air Max quart Griffey Fury just hit retailers with Nike air MaxDia, a color borrowed from one of the original styles from a model that’s been just as overlooked as the OG Diamond Fury. The Nike Total Griffey Max ’99 hearkens back to Junior’s last season in Seattle with a playful take on the Mariners’ color scheme that reflects the resurgence of Familia in 1998 and into ’99 after the Air Max quart 95-sparked mid-decade explosion. This nearly forgotten chapter in the Junior canon features a distinctive lateral ‘wave’ that could’ve been right at home on any of Nike Basketball’s acmis from that same period, its 5/8 height a change from the earlier Air Griffey Max models and one that’s arguably more wardrobe friendly.
