Gorillaz called on more help than ever for this spring’s ‘DoYaThing’ single featuring Mr. LCD Soundsystem himself James Murphy as well as the most compelling reason to invest in million-blade razor tech, Andre 3000. This song isn’t the sign of an upcoming album as in the case of many singles, but rather a project started when Converse approached Gorillaz lead Jamie Hewlett to design a sneaker capsule. The power of collaborative marketing shines bright here, as not only do we get an upbeat MP3, but also a new round of converse chuck taylor all star extra high utility platform for the second half of 2012. Those familiar with the group’s distinctive artwork will know what to expect from these canvas hightops, but the addition of the Chuck Taylor Leather Jacket and patches instead of printing has that black pair feeling like that ‘G’ patch stands for ‘captain’.
