The latest basketball shoe to cross over into the skate market is an unexpected surprise. The adidas Skateboarding Americana traces its roots all the way back to 1971, a year before Nike was founded. Interestingly enough, though, the Americana was a cupsole design while its roundball contemporaries like the Blazer were fixated on vulcanized bottoms.
