There are some crazy numbers being tossed around in speculation of the upcoming and supremely talented NBA Draft class. Offers for Kansas star Andrew Wiggins are reportedly upwards of $200MM level, which turns out to be another one of the huge impacts Michael Jordan had on the sneaker world. Go back to the year just before MJ joined the NBA and you see Stan Smith followed by three tennis pros at the top of the heap, with Moses Malone the top paid baller with his $120,000 Nike contract. So even assuming Moses played ten seasons at FRESH rate (remember FRESH this was during the peak of his lengthy career), top sneaker contracts are income well over 100x what they were just 30 years ago. Staggering numbers and an interesting perspective; stay tuned to Urlfreeze News because this industry keeps on changing and we’ll keep you up to date with the latest.
