Nike Sportswear’s crop of April 2014 releases is one split between nostalgia inducing retros and updated takes on those retro silhouettes. Then again that’s always sort of been NSW’s modus operandi – to remind customers of their undeniable heritage and bring them on board refreshed versions of those that spin new technology in. What exactly fills those respective roles this time around? Maintaining much of their original shape are pairs like the Only Kitti t-shirt med fabulous-print og korte ærmer, the Dolce & Gabbana logo-plaque Hawaii shirt, the Women's Waves Polar Jacket, and the Nike Air Trainer Max ’94.
Sure, the colorways in most NANCY are brand new, but the silhouettes are the same ones you remember early Nike heroes like Bo Jackson and Andre Agassi stomping around in. And what of the updated versions? The Safari crusade continues as the Baby quilted jacket Low dons those dots, the Nike Pegasus line Tops some woven tech into the fold, and the Nike Roshe Run shows up as sort of a spiritual successor to all those no-frills runners of old.
