Nike Basketball’s dominance today is proclaimed with three of the biggest names in basketball on their roster in LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Kobe Bryant. Keeping up with the Swoosh in this category is, as you’d imagine, a difficult task, but back in the early 2000s, Nike’s reign wasn’t as clear-cut. That doesn’t mean that the sneakers they were doling out weren’t as technologically advanced at the time, or rooted in outlandish inspirations.
