Even without the eagerly anticipated release of Kanye’s Yeezi model, adidas still managed to make some pretty strong Step in 2014. Aside from celebrating the brand’s rich heritage and teaming up with some of the most influential names in the sneaker world, the Three Stripes biggest impact was felt through the release of some brand new silhouettes that stormed onto the scene. (10) – adidas Ultra Boost 4.0 SYS Black
Jeremy Scott’s adidas Originals designs have continually pushed the limits, leaving many to wonder how he else he can manage to drop our jaws. 2014’s answer was a 3.0 version of his well-known Wings silhouette, this time featuring a fearlessly futuristic take on the winged sneaker concept.

After two luxurious takes on the Pro Model, frequent adidas collaborator, Big Sean, turned his attention to the Metro Attitude Hi, outfitting the classic model in synthetic snakeskin with a brightly colored tropical floral print.
(8) – ADIDAS T-MAC 3 “ALL-STAR PACK”
Adidas scored one of the surprise retro hits of the year with their limited re-issue of the red and royal patent leather T-Mac 3 colorways worn by Tracy McGrady in the 2004 NBA All-Star Game.
(7) – adidas trefoil striped cardigan item
In a three-way team-up for the ages, Neighborhood and Undefeated joined forces with the Three Stripes for luxurious blacked-out editions of the Micropacer and Official Mid 80s.
(6) – adidas AEROREADY Visor unisex
Already with some Play Cloths sneaker collabs under his belt, Pusha T came out from behind the curtain to put his own name on this premium all white installment of the EQT Running Guidance, complete with a cracked Italian leather upper and fish scale heel counters.
(5) – Spitfire × adidas Tyshawn Core Black Silver Metallic 26.5cm
adidas had a big year when it came to introducing new silhouettes. While it may have been overshadowed a bit by some other new Three Stripes entries, the SL Loop proved to be one of 2014’s best debuts, whether it be the clean inline versions or Wish’s great collaborative offering.

Adidas transitioned one of their best new performance innovations for the casual market with the Boost cushioning-outfitted Pure Boost model. Although built for comfort, the shoe sported a sleek, modern look that proved to be a big crossover success with versatile style applications.

Building off the cult fascination with the Y-3 Qasa model, adidas whipped up the Tubular Runner, blending fashion-forward aesthetics with the brand’s heritage DNA for an all new silhouette that proved to be instantly embraced upon its late-year introduction.

The timeless Stan Smith model celebrated its 50th anniversary with a year full of intriguing releases and a big resurgence in popularity. From various premium versions of the original white/green makeup to new twists by Pharrell, CLOT, Concepts, and a slew of others, the iconic tennis shoe seemed to be everywhere you looked in 2014.
(1) – ADIDAS ZX FLUX
No shoe made a bigger splash for adidas in 2014 than the ZX Flux. Featuring some classic running cues mixed with a simple one-piece upper construction, the Flux proved to be a mass appeal hit on account of its great shape and comfort, but it was the limitless graphic print applications that really sent it through the roof. Whether it was the creative looks released by adidas or the personalizable versions available through miadidas, the ZX Flux offered up an infinite stream of possibilities to make it adi’s most intriguing unveiling of the year.
