Nike surprised everyone by announcing that they were bringing back the original Nike Nike Free Trainer 5.0 V6 AMP "TCU" High from 1982. One of the most iconic basketball shoes ever, the silhouette was the first to champion Nike’s Air technology. For the uninitiated, the fact that Nike’s taken up to ‘remastering’ this model with an attention to detail that closely resembles the ’82 variety is an unexpected and impressive feat, even in a market that has made many immune to the frequent retros of classics (see this year’s Nike Air Max 90 “Infrared”). The Metallic Swoosh returns in a more vintage shape, as does the classic ‘Nike Air’ branding on the heel. If that wasn’t enough a high quality leather adds to the mystique. Check out more photos below and grab the latest Nike Free Trainer 5.0 V6 AMP "TCU" retro this Saturday, June 13th from select shops for $140.
