The rise in popularity of Yohji Yamamoto’s adidas Y-3 imprint has led to adidas Originals imitating some of the sleeker designs to appease those who wouldn’t readily shell out the usual $300-$400 for a Y-3 pair. That thought process has been readily apparent with the Tubular and Boost series and now another silhouette is benefiting from the overhaul: the adidas Superstar. Let’s be clear that this isn’t by any means a new clearance. In fact, a few years back the three stripes released this women’s exclusive adidas Superstar Strap featuring crisscrossing neoprene straps and a slip-on construction similar to the Qasa series. It didn’t do all that well back then, as it came and went in a flash and was forgotten quickly. Now adidas is hoping the changing atmosphere and how we look at lifestyle sneakers will also change how this pair is recieved. Two simple colorways are available for purchase in a subtle black and white exclusive to a women’s size run once again.
