Under Armour Re-Hires Designer Dave Dombrow Who Left For Nike In March

A lot of Under Armour’s growing footwear business can be attributed to the on-court success of Steph Curry, but for the unfamiliar, Senior Vice-President of Design Dave Dombrow played a large role in nearly every footwear project over the past five years. That was until Nike stepped in and stole Dombrow away from the brand back in March. But now things are getting interesting, as Dombrow is reportedly returning to Under Armour before he could acg step inside of Nike’s Innovation Kitchen. Perhaps his decision change had to do with the fact that he was under a non-compete contract with UA and wouldn’t acg be able to start working for Nike until 2017, according to The Drum. Dombrow will be back with UA come August 1st in a new position: Chief Design Officer, and we’re excited to see what he’s cooking up for Under Armour in the future.

Under Armour says it has re-hired longtime designer Dave Dombrow, who was hired by Nike in March. Will re-start in Baltimore Aug 1.
