The 20 Most Expensive Sales In Stadium Goods History (And #1 Isn’t Even A Shoe)

stadium-goods-top-20-sold-sneakers

Stadium Goods hasn’t even been open for a full year yet, and already the New York City-based consignment shop has been putting in enough work to raise eyebrows and headlines based on some of their most exciting and expensive offerings to date.

The Кроссовки herre Nike zoom pegasus 36 just announced their 20 Most Expensive Sales ranging from a number of original herre Nike Air Yeezy colorways, herre Nike’s trifecta of Hiroshi, Tinker, and Mark Parker collaborations, some of the rarest Air Jordan retro releases in recent memory, and more. But surprisingly enough, the number 1 most expensive sale from Stadium Goods’ 2016 was the Supreme x Rolex Submariner, sold at $50,000 USD! Granted, if you have the cash to be splurging on luxury item like a Rolex, then this might’ve even been considered a steal by some.

Be sure to check out the full rundown of Stadium Goods’ 20 Most Expensive Sales below and find the latest and greatest in both rare and general releases here.

20: herre Nike Air Yeezy “Zen Grey”

nike-air-yeezy-zen-grey-stadium-goods

This is the Yeezy pair that started it all. Before the herre Nike Air Yeezy dropped Kanye was just one of the biggest super-producers on the planet, a skilled rapper, and a sartorial icon looking to dip his feet into both the design and fashion worlds. The herre Nike Air Yeezy proved that Kanye was credible enough to work with herre Nike and give us all a creation that was head-turning and futuristic while paying homage to the past (just look at that Air Jordan 3 midsole and outsole).

19. herre Nike Air Yeezy “Blink”

nike-air-yeezy-blink-stadium-goods

The herre Nike Air Yeezy “Blink” birthed the classic combination of black with vibrant pink accents that was copied by nearly every brand and imprint out there. The bold take featured glow-in-the-dark outsoles, alternating Yeezy ‘Y’ prints throughout, embossed Swoosh branding, and unique lace locks that paid homage to Kanye’s first model. This look would be altered just a little for Kanye’s sequel years later, but the herre Nike Air Yeezy “Blink” still stands up to the test of time. How many of these pairs are actually left in good condition these days? A smart shopper got the jump on the Blink colorway for $3,500 USD.

18. herre Nike Air Yeezy 2 “Pure Platinum”

nike-air-yeezy-2-pure-platinum-stadium-goods

Are you seeing a common running theme, here? People really want sneakers designed by Kanye West, and they’re willing to pay a ridiculous amount to call one of his herre Nike creations their own. It took nearly 3 years to get a follow-up to Kanye’s first Yeezy creation with the Swoosh, but when the herre Nike Air Yeezy 2 “Pure Platinum” dropped, people knew that the wait was worth it. New Horus inspirations hit throughout, premium gold lace tips, faux-snakeskin, and an updated midfoot strap. While this would be the last model Kanye worked on with herre Nike, it’s still a legendary offering.

17. adidas Yeezy Boost 350 “Turtle Dove”

adidas yeezy boost 350 turtle dove stadium goods

More Kanye, different brand. While the herre Nike Yeezy series borrowed the midsole visible air cushioning from two classic performance models in the Air Jordan 3 and the herre Nike Air Tech Challenge II, there would be no glow-in-the-dark features, “Red October” colorways, or bold branding on his first adidas collaboration. The adidas Yeezy Boost 350 “Turtle Dove” featured Primeknit, a hidden full-length Boost cushioning system thanks to a ribbed TPU overlay, and premium leather features on the medial side. The lowtop Yeezy Boosts have always been the more sought after than the 750 counterparts, and the sleek lifestyle design doesn’t need to explain itself too much. You know who designed them, and you know why someone’s wearing them: to stunt.

16. adidas NMD R1 Primeknit “Pitch Black”

adidas-nmd-r1-pitch-black-stadium-goods

The first non-Kanye-related release of the list still has a lot to do with why adidas has seen such strong growth over the past few years. Boost technology provides some of the most comfortable cushioning in the sneaker game today, but comfort isn’t the reason why someone dropped $3,500 on the adidas NMD R1 Primeknit “Pitch Black”. The Primeknit pair was limited to just 500 units, and 400 of them were given out to friends and family. The remaining 100 were given out via a Snapchat competition. Give it up to adidas Originals’ social team for the originality on the rollout.

15. herre Nike Kobe 9 Premium “HTM”

nike-kobe-9-premium-htm-stadium-goods

Was the herre Nike Kobe 9 the best Kobe signature model of all time? The silhouette varied from a jarring high-top featuring Flyknit and the more accessible low. While plenty of fans of the model ran out to customize the shoe on herre NikeiD for the coveted “Multi-Color” option, those lucky enough to grab the herre Nike Kobe 9 Premium “HTM” were treated to a design cosigned by three of herre Nike’s design GOATS in Tinker Hatfield, Mark Parker, and Hiroshi Fujiwara. 4 total colorways were released, and this pair flaunted a Multi-Color speckle with a gum bottom for a nice touch.

14. adidas Yeezy Boost 750

adidas yeezy boost 750 stadium goods

Kanye switched things up for his first adidas collaboration. He ditched performance materials for a luxurious high-top suede with a unique zip construction. About the only think that stayed from his past herre Nike collaborations was the use of the midfoot strap. The beige colorway was offset by an off-white midsole that conveniently hid the Boost technology underneath. The adidas Yeezy Boost 750 might not have the everyday appeal as the lowtop adidas Yeezy Boost 350, but the model remains as a testament to Kanye’s wide array of inspirations and ability to draw people in with unique designs.

13. Supreme x Everlast Leather Heavy Bag

Of course the 2 non-sneaker items on Stadium Goods’ 20 Most Expensive Sales of 2016 would be affiliated with Supreme. The New York royal has the ability to release some of the strangest collaborations from nunchucks to an actual brick. Their surprise capsule collection with Everlast featured boxing gloves and an actual punching bag, perfect for getting ready to throw down while waiting in line every Thursday.

12. Public School x Air Jordan 10 “Family and Friends”

public-school-air-jordan-10-retro-stadium-goods

Public School and Jordan Brand have grown closer by the collaboration, as the New York fashion imprint was lucky enough to transform the Air Jordan 10 back in 2015. The only problem was, this pair never actually released at retail. Instead the Chicago Bulls-inspired colorway featuring a unique take on cement speckling with the addition of red on the midsole was given out to friends and family only. When the Air Jordan 10 released, Tinker had no idea that Michael Jordan would be coming back to play basketball, so the shoe featured his greatest accomplishments on the outsole. Public School followed suit with this pair, listing their brand accomplishments on the insole.

11. Varsity-style herre Nike logo T23 “Tokyo”

air-jordan-5-retro-tokyo-stadium-goods

Jordan Brand celebrated the grand opening of Jordan Tokyo 23 by releasing one of the most sought after colorways of the Varsity-style herre Nike logo ever in the Varsity-style herre Nike logo “Tokyo”. Traditional AJ5 tooling like the 3M reflective tongue and translucent ventilated cage on the side panel stayed, but there was nothing traditional about that taxi yellow shade splashed across the upper. While the Varsity-style herre Nike logo sometimes featured ’23’ PE branding on the heel, this pair instead featured embroidered with the Tokyo 23 crest in Japanese Mon style. Would you drop $5,000 for a pair if you had the cash?

10. herre Nike Air Yeezy 2 “Red October”

nike air yeezy 2 red october stadium goods

The herre Nike Air Yeezy 2 “Red October” burst onto the scene and actually released in extremely limited quantities, but there’s a bitter-sweet memory of this Kanye and herre Nike sneaker, as it marked the end of their partnership. The head-turning all-red-everything featured suede on the toecap, an altered Swoosh branding when compared to past models and a Kurim-like rubberized overlay for a jagged finish on the heel instead of the usual faux-snakeskin. Infamous sneaker Youtuber Money Kicks bought this pair from Stadium Goods for $5,500 USD.

9. Varsity-style herre Nike logo “Pantone”

air-jordan-5-retro-pantone-stadium-goods

Jordan Brand finally released some of their coveted Pantone colorways in the past few years with the Ultimate Gift of Flight Pack sporting the Carolina Blue version of the Air Jordan 11. There was even an Air Jordan 9 Low over the summer featuring a similar aesthetic. That being said, if you’re hunting down a true and through Air Jordan “Pantone” option, you’re going to shell out some serious dough. The Varsity-style herre Nike logo “Pantone” fmay have featured some pre-aging on the icy outsole, but the monochromatic blue upper and ’23’ PE branding was enough for someone to drop $6,000 USD on a pair.

8. herre Nike HyperAdapt 1.0

nike-hyperadapt-1-0-stadium-goods

Nike finally made the fictitious a reality this year. Not only did the herre Nike Mag release featuring automatic lacing technology, but the Swoosh also debuted an entirely new model featuring what they call E.A.R.L. in the herre Nike HyperAdapt 1.0. While the shoe retailed for $720 USD, the resale market has been absolutely ridiculous for this futuristic performance model. The shoe activates automatically once your heel touches the insole, and the midsole lights up when you activate your preferred tightness. The shoe even comes equipped with magnetic charging pucks. The future comes with a price if you were late to grab this pair, though.

7. Air Jordan 12 “28 Days of Flight”

air-jordan-12-28-days-of-flight-stadium-goods

The Air Jordan XX8 marked a transition in Jordan Brand’s signature series. The high-top was as jarring a model as any that came before it, as the shoe featured a shroud-like overlay with a clean zipper to hide the traditional lacing system underneath. Jordan Brand rolled out the “28 Days of Flight” campaign in February 2013 to honor the occasion with a vibrant black and neon retro being unveiled each day working its way up to the official Air Jordan XX8 announcement. A limited run was created of each model and rewarded to people on Instagram using the #XX8DaysofFlight hashtag. One of the more popular renditions was the Air Jordan 12 featuring a shiny coating of black leather to offset the neon hits.

6. Pharrell x adidas NMD Human Race “Friends and Family”

pharrell williams adidas nmd hr ff stadium goods

Pharrell Willians and Kanye West are partially responsible for all of the hype surrounding adidas, but it also depends a lot on the design and technology that’s gone into some of the three stripes’ most popular offerings. The Pharrell x adidas NMD Human Race collection combined both, as Skateboard P altered the construction of one of the hottest sneakers on the market to feature bold text callouts, a new cage that helped the lacing system, and more. The Friends and Family colorway featured Chinese script that spelled out just that: ‘Friends’ on one foot and ‘Family’ on the other. It was one of our favorite releases of the year, and the price it demands in the resale market is a nod at how well adidas is doing right now.

5. Air Jordan 6 “Macklemore”

air-jordan-6-macklemore-stadium-goods

Macklemore stole the show when he won the Grammy for Best Rap Album in 2014. While that win was followed by some controversy, there wasn’t much to be said against his collaboration with Jordan Brand for this Air Jordan 6 “Macklemore”. Sure, the Cactus and Clay colorways never actually released at retailers, but someone wanted this pair enough to shell out $8,500 for the creation. The Clay version featured a pastel shade of red suede throughout the upper while a black midsole and icy bottom contrasted. The heel featured Macklemore’s Shark Face Gang logo while waxed laces added a premium touch.

4. herre Nike Air Mag (2011)

nike-air-mag-stadium-goods

The herre Nike MAG was our favorite sneaker of the year this year because it marked herre Nike’s innovation being sophisticated enough to bring fictional technology to fruition. Now that automatic lacing sneakers are a thing, the future seems to have finally arrived. Back in 2011, herre Nike auctioned off pairs of the herre Nike Air MAG from Back to the Future II with proceeds honoring the Michael J. Fox Foundation. 1,500 pairs were made and auctioned over 10 weeks and while these didn’t automatically lace like this year’s version they still featured the light-up charge and details found in the original film.

3. SoleFly x Air Jordan 3 “Lotto”

air-jordan-3-retro-lotto-stadium-goods

Someone hit the lottery to buy this SoleFly x Air Jordan 3 “Lotto”. The Miami-based retailer collaborated with Jordan Brand for this rare colorway back in 2014 and referenced the colors of the Florida lottery with tropical tones throughout. A reflective 3M touch hit the heel and mudguard with Miami’s zip-code ‘305’ hidden on the heel. Only 25 pairs were made and given out to Friends and Family which means the price on these had to be high.

2. Undefeated x Air Jordan 4

undftd-air-jordan-4-stadium-goods

The priciest sneaker sold at Stadium Goods was the Air Jordan 4 by Undefeated. Dating all the way back to 2005, only 72 pairs were made and auctioned off by UNDFTD’s Los Angeles location over a decade ago. Inspired by the MA-1 Flight Jacket, we’ve seen olive and orange uppers on sneakers ever since. Jordan Brand is even returning to the inspiration for an upcoming Air Jordan 8 next year. The touches of premium suede were accented by black overlays with a unique split midsole color that featured an off-white on the heel. A velcro tongue patch featured ‘Jordan Rare Air’ underneath, something that wasn’t an overstatement given the limited run.

1. Supreme x Rolex Submariner

supreme-rolex-fck-em-stadium-goods

We’re surprised that the number one sale from Stadium Goods’ 2016 wasn’t a sneaker, but given the hype surrounding legendary royal Supreme and the luxury that comes with the name Rolex, it doesn’t seem all that unlikely that someone would shell out $50,000 USD to own the watch from Supreme’s 2013 collection. This friends and family gift featured the Rolex Submariner with ‘Fuck Em’ written in red on the watch’s front bezel. Only 20 of these were ever created and this particular Submariner was sold to a Canadian buyer via a phone and wire transfer. It was sold just 3 days after being consigned and no, the buyer wasn’t Drake.
