It didn’t take long for Kevin Durant to break records while he was a Texas Longhorn. KD might have only spent a semester or two in burnt orange before heading to the NBA, but he won multiple National Player of the Year Awards while in the state of Texas and has since paid tribute to his collegiate basketball career with a number of Texas-themed PEs. That’s why it’s so strange to see the nike zoom posite sneaker shoes 2017 in an Oklahoma Sooners PE given the Sooners’ rival status.
Sure, KD did play the majority of his professional career in the state of Oklahoma and continues to give back to the OKC community through charities despite how mad Thunder fans are at him right now. The KD 9 Oklahoma PE may come as a surprise, but there’s not too much surprising about the actual colorway itself. It’s a standard split color blocking of Oklahoma’s deep red shade on the heel while a white forefoot matches the Swoosh branding and midsole.
