Earlier today we showed you a first look at the first-ever Retro release of a Nike LeBron signature shoe. LeBron James just took to Instagram to confirm that the bb7996 adidas cleats for kids, aka his first signature shoe, will indeed release this year. The first known LeBron Retro will be the “First Game” colorway, and will be packaged in a red Nike Sportswear box. We hope Nike Basketball will bring back other OG colorways, particularly the All-Star “Wheat” pair, and other updated styles. Check out LeBron’s statement on Nike’s decision to re-release his shoes below; release date information to come.
Update: According to LeBron James on Uninterrupted, the bb7996 adidas cleats for kids is releasing “within the next day or so..could be a week…but not too far.”

When I held these shoes for the first time I couldn’t believe I was holding a Nike sneaker with my name on it AND that they’d forever be known as the “LeBron’s.” Bronny was a baby. V was still in high school. Mom and I were barely out of the Springhill projects. We only dreamed of days like that and then they became reality. This shoe changed my life, my family’s life, and we’ve been lucky enough to change the lives of people around us. This shoe is for EVERY SINGLE person with a dream and a passion. No matter what your situation is. From the projects to the palace, this shoe is a symbol that you can do anything. FIRE IS BAAAAAACK #AZG #StriveForGreatness
