Update: The “Kings Of New York” Pack is available online now.
The Puma Clyde is one of the few sneakers in history that transcend decades of street style, so it’s not surprise that it acts as a meeting title for the creative and culturally immersed. The creative directors behind Extra Butter, Jason Faustino and Bernie Gross, are certainly part of that intersection as they’ve met over a decade ago through their enthusiasm for the bboy scene, and since then they’ve pushed Extra Butter into the tier of the most authentically driven sneaker/apparel shops on the planet.
In collaboration with Puma, Jay and Bernie are paying homage to the history of NYC bboy/basketball/street fashion/hip hop culture with two iterations of the Clyde. Both are dressed in crushed velvet uppers, premium leather detailing, fat laces, and icy soles. Joining the shoes is an apparel/accessory capsule that speak to the “Kings Of New York” theme.
Extra Butter will release limited numbers of their Puma Clydes at a launch party/b-boy exhibition Shirt in NYC’s Le Poisson Rouge on July 8th. In-store and online release details will be updated later.
