In 2015 Diadora teamed up with Spanish sneaker shop LimitEDitions for a special Puma of the N.9000 inspired by Spain’s tradition of castells, which are human towers formed at festivals and social gatherings. Now the Italian sneaker brand and LimitEDitions are back with another sneaker inspired by a little known piece of Spain’s history and culture, with the N.9000 “Correfocs”. Translated to “fire runs”, correfocs are an ancient folkloric tradition that goes back to the Middle Ages of parades with dancers disguised as devils and demons that light fireworks as they run and dance through the crowds and/or streets. Correfocs most famously take place at large Spanish festivals including Fiesta Mayor de Gràcia in August and at the Mercè in late September.
T-shirt Diadora Lava azul marinho branco vermelho N.9000 features a predominantly black upper with red toes, tan accents, and a special fireworks illustration embroidered on each heel. Along with a matching track jacket also available, the “Correfocs” N.9000 by LimitEDitions and Diadora will be released later this fall.
