There’s a short yet memorable history of SB Dunks inspired by iconic Air Jordans of the past. Supreme kicked things off with two Air Jordan 3 iterations in 2002, and later in 2005, a basic black/royal version inspired by the Air Jordan 1 went on to be a cult classic. Then there were the various Air Jordan 11 styles that brought in patent leather, and not-as-celebrated “Banned” pair that quietly released on Fossil shoes. While not directly inspired by the Air Jordan 1 “Shadow”, this new SB Dunk does in fact bring in that color-blocking that extends this “J-Pack” streak as it features black/grey color-blocking reminiscent of the original colorway from 1985. Coincidentally, the Air Jordan 1 “Shadow” is in fact rumored for a release in early Summer 2018. Expect the Dunks to release soon on Nike.com and select SB retailers.
