size? and adidas are back once again to continue their successful partnership on the 1971-adidas Originals Trimm Star silhouette. Named after the German sports initiative that was meant to get people out of their houses and start living a healthier lifestyle in the early 70’s, the Trimm Star dons a sleek aesthetic that Three Stripes loyalists have become accustomed to. Dubbed the “VHS”, the tri-colored striping that you see on this sneaker’s midfoot is unrevealed by the cult practice of video-taping classic soccer matches on VHS tape. Its color palette stems from graphics that were found on the boxes of those aforementioned video tapes. Gilly loops replace customary eyelets on this particular model, while gold foil branding and an attractive gum sole unit complete this retro look. Pairs will be available exclusively online at size? and in all their brick-and-mortar locations on June 1st for £90, with another pair slated to drop in the coming weeks.
