Trailing 2-1 in the series and with Kurt Rambis barreling toward the basket for a breakaway slam, McHale hit the big man with a hard foul that resulted in a benches clearing brawl. Los Angeles went on to lose the series due to an obsession with getting even rather than playing to win the game.
