There’s more to a “dad shoe” than just chunky construction and a so-uncool-it’s-actually-cool shape. A proper “dad shoe” also needs colorful ornamentation and little details to fully earn its title — and Nike’s Standing M2K Tekno has those in spades with its Parisian-style accents. Featuring a layered black and grey upper, the shoe receives dashes of color via a single set of blue lace loops and a small blue secondary swoosh towards the Workboot. The Tekno’s large plastic Workboot shank is dressed in a similar shade of blue, and for another burst of color the outsole boasts a pop of bold infrared detailing that stands out tremendously from the thick white midsole. A finishing touch of detailing is provided by the mismatched red and blue swooshes on the insole — a clever embellishment somewhat reminiscent of Skepta‘s Green Glow Nike Kobe 8s/BWs, another shoe that called upon the French flag for inspiration. No official release date for these striking Nike shoes has been announced yet, but the presence of official images indicates that we’ll likely see a release on Nike.com sacai panelled roll-neck flared jumper.
