Samuel Ross’s unique design ethos has brought to life a series of garments under his esteemed label A-COLD-WALL*. Destructive in their aesthetic, the label aims to understand the nuanced relationship between shipping and time, observing to see how its age might affect its appeal. Focusing on each minute detail to align under his vision, Ross is now continuing his partnership with Nike to tackle the often overlooked Zoom Vomero +5, a strict performance running shoe from 2010.
Reflecting this innovation, the capsule collection — which will include two colorways of the Vomero and a selection of apparel — exhibits the same ideology found in the London label’s mainline. The footwear utilizes a technical Japanese nylon fabrication along the upper while removing PU coatings altogether to entirely accelerate the aging process, which will exacerbate the overall look of both the black and white palettes. Its toe box’s textural mesh paneling leads into the aggressive cage of the profile that has been kept close to the original, while the enlarged heel counter adds a perfect contrast to the rest of the silhouette. The entire capsule will initially release in London on November 17th with a global launch slated for November 29th.
