Although engineer M. Frank Rudy originally created Nike’s Air Max technology with performance in mind, the cushioning has been adopted as a favorite for casual wear over the past few decades. After the Air Max 270 made waves with its large heel Max unit when it first released earlier this year, another large-bubbled silhouette has now surfaced: the ladies-only Air Max Dia. Calling upon a translucent TPE upper the likes of which you’d usually see on a Air Zoom Pegasus 38 FlyEase Extra Wide or Zoom Fly SP, the Dia also boasts a gigantic heel Air Max unit and a thick white midsole that’s almost platform-style to match. Arriving in a bright combo of red and burgundy as well as a sporty ice blue with burgundy and yellow accents, these maximalist Max for the fairer sex certainly provide a unique aesthetic, and are bound to turn heads with their super-sized embellishments. Get a first look at both colorways of the new kicks here, and stay tuned for further release information as it’s available.
