With a trio of original silhouettes, the Jordan Brand is aiming to advance its Flight Suit-inspired design ethos originally championed by the Air Jordan 33, and bring it into the lifestyle circuit. Helping lead this movement will be the Jordan Apex React, the Proto Max 720, and the Proto React, all set to debut at global Swoosh stockists on April 1st.
“Similar to how we’re approaching the Jordan game shoe, we want to blend our design aesthetic with leading-edge NIKE, Inc., innovation when designing lifestyle silhouettes,” David Creech, VP of Design for Jordan Brand said. “Off-court comfort is paramount, so the benefit of Air Max 720 and React cushioning is clear.”
In an effort to achieve this desire, both the Proto Max 720, and the Proto React fuse cutting edge cushioning with the aforementioned aeronautical-inspired aesthetic seen throughout each of these creations. One the other hand, the new-look Apex React sees a Flyknit upper similar to that of the Air Jordan 1 made of the same textile placed atop a React-laden sole. All three designs act as a window toward the future of the Jordan Brand, proving that the design team and creators have a new vision for both fit and feel. Each colorway you see pictured below will drop on April 1st, so grab a detailed look ahead and keep it locked for more colorways that are bound to help further push the boundaries of Jordan design.
