Since being thrust back into the sneaker world’s consciousness in early 2018 for its 20th anniversary, Nike has given the Sergio Lozano-designed Nike React Sertu Triple White AT5301-100 many a bold makeover, but it’s safe to say that this new LX model for women may just be the most unexampled of the lot. Although its black base, white midsole, grey Air Max unit, and black outsole are all inherently familiar, sui generis stylings grace the upper’s overlays, thanks to a textured clear plastic construction that’s stuffed full of a colorful material medley. This hodgepodge of pebbled pieces — some colorful, some not — appears to be made up of rubber scraps, similar to what you’d find on a turf field, and is present across the length of the upper, as well as on the top eyestays and toebox for a look that’s art installation and sneaker all in one. They’re set to release later this summer on Nike.com, so check out a detailed set of images directly below while you wait.
