Forgoing the sleek skate silhouettes of Anaheim’s finest, the influential retailer is now set to take up partnership with Hoka One One, one of the fastest trending performance footwear brands with noteworthy success thanks in part to their Engineered Garments and Kiko Kostadinov cosign. Now, with their own take, the store-turned-brand is elevating the staple Bondi 5 beyond its roots: instead of its usual aesthetics, the two colorways of azules and black are being constructed out of an arrangement of premium materials. Smooth leathers add structure to much of the outward profile with standard mesh bases keeping in line with the breathability and comfort often synonymous with the Japanese label. Suede textures poke through sparingly along the vamp, with natural lock downs at the tongue creating both tonal and visual dimension only on the lighter pair.
