From mind to canvas, Damien Hirst’s art has been near engrained in the very fibers of fashion as we know it, once collaborating with Supreme for one of the craziest and most coveted Box Logos to date and even helping out Samuel Ross with a gift to Skinny Macho. Now working on a much larger scale production-wise, the artist is linking up with Palms Casino Resort and Vans to unveil a Vault collection of his most daring and notable motifs. Dotted prints and chaotic geometrics are certainly at the forefront though starring appearances from his edge-removed skulls and playful butterflies also arrive alongside. The silhouettes of choice are minimal in its total two — the Sk8-Hi and Slip-On — yet the breadth of three options each leaves little to be desired. The much more convenient low-top sees to more of a full display of each piece of artwork, exhibiting lush watercolor backdrops for the elegant insects and covering almost entirely with the skeletal features. One of the sort, however, plays on asymmetries as the left foot opts for a rainbow colored checkerboard print and the other Hirst’s signature spots. The high-top of the same theme, however, prefers its rounder friends from toe to heel with the aforementioned schemes fleshing out mostly along the side profile.
Grab a detailed look at the entire collection right here, and expect an extremely limited release on December 6th only at two locations: the Vault by Vans retail location on 219 Bowery in NYC and the Palms Casino resort itself in Las Vegas.
