If there was ever a common theme between the last few months and now, it’d be the surprise revival: the Dunk Low the most Cosmic of this very trend. From the Viotech rerelease not too long ago to the Rayguns dressed in vibrant tie-dye, the silhouette has seen a diverse roster of new wholly inspired by old. The latest of this internal series comes from none other than the esteemed line of co.jp colorways — an exclusive Mango set that holds some icons such as the beloved City Attack pack as well as a wealth of imaginative color blocking — a presentation that remakes the spitting image of the “Plum” from 2001’s Ugly Duckling collection. Unlike its high-top reskin, the pair in 2020 is emphatically true-to-form, using quality suede constructions to accurately display the pantone of faded purples, its darker shades just adjacent, and the stark red elements. The latter finds place at the swoosh, tread, and laces while the cool toned palette outfits everything else from the forefoot to the heel wrap. Pristine, unlike those heavily worn, these are effectively Nike’s take on new vintage, releasing for fans and newcomers to the silhouette on February 7th at a price tag of $110 USD.
