Nike’s impending “City Pack” brings the nike air max team red atomic mass schedule birthday celebrations into the limelight once more, this time for a five-pronged collection that is figurative of international service workers. A duo of destinations in Asia are integrated into its release calendar, one of which is this pair that pays homage to Tokyo. Designed with the everyday blue-collar construction worker in mind, these AM 90s engineer most of its uppers with a textile fabric to represent the employee’s oft-worn tobi pants. Other attributes of the Asian metropolis are liaised through its seal window which houses a Japanese translation of the words “Safety first” to refer to the warning signs present throughout the city, in addition to mismatched tongue badges which translate signage found on these workers’ jobs sites. Interestingly enough, the gilded accents coated upon the eyestays wear away over time similar to how a normal constructional tool would, and the insole graphics feature a more direct nod by printing an actual graphic of the Shiba-koen district’s Tokyo Tower. Official photos are available here, so take a closer look and be on the lookout for a release on February 10th on Nike.com for $140.
