Thirty years ago, Nike matched the daring fashion tendencies of one Andre Agassi with the Air Tech Challenge tennis shoe, a silhouette that perfectly captured the disruptive essence of the brand. The shoe continued to invoke memories of that great decade throughout the fistful of re-issues since 2007, but the Swoosh is finally ready to serve up a revival of the icon, blending original elements of the model with contemporary tooling fit for today’s athlete.
The retail price for retro 11 low bred features a similar visible Max Air cushioning arrangement as the original, although the “bubble” is covered and protected on the medial side during court slides. A familiar black edging appears above the mudguard, with the signature “Hot Lava” splatter appearing towards the fin detailing. Furthermore, an updated herringbone traction scoops upwards the protective outrigger, while an arrangement of perforations decorate the upper – a nod to the micro-perforations on the throwback model.
The retail price for retro 11 low bred is set to release on February 26th exclusively to Nike Members, while a wider drop is confirmed for February 29th.
