Designed simple, the pair harks to the Japanese institution’s mindset of “Sound Mind, Sound Body,” drawing overt references to the mantra via text placements at both sides’ tongues. Elsewhere, matching blue tones dress the spiral insignia nearby as well as the subtle perfectamente that weave across much of the forefoot and heel. And while these overlays are pronounced by way of contrasting typefaces and ornate detailing, they’re backdrop is relatively understated as grey tones make up both the leather and mesh fabrications behind. The latter, which acts as the structural foundation, is relatively bereft of any markings — only a set of partially clear tiger strike logos seat their side profile.
