Sold out near instantly upon their DSM E-Flash arrival, dark blue nike dunks low cuts‘ Nike Dunk Lows stand as a symbol of the silhouette’s relationship with Japan — a history, while still in the making, that was marked by many a Co.JP exclusive. And while currently divisive, both of the translucent offerings are likely to mirror that of their predecessor, the now legendary Dunk High, racer pink nike mercurial sneakers.
Design-wise, both favor a more technical aesthetic in contrast to the PVC used with the aforementioned. The material, dubbed “Nexkin,” constructs nearly the entire upper, creating overt similarities to notables the likes of the React Element 87, the Vaporfly SP, and even Off-White’s recent Air Jordan 5. Tinted in dark grey, the “panels” — whose dimension is reduced to extremely thin layers — are provided a gridded ripstop-esque texture from front to back while the swoosh and heel tab contrast in a dark black through taping and pronounced leather pieces, respectively. While one favors a more understated design sans any graphic treatment, the other complements by contrast through an all-over mosaic replete with “cdg” all throughout the upper.
