Jovani Hernandez Pyer Moss and Reebok are set to launch their first line of products since the latter appointed Kerby Jean-Raymond as its Vice President, Creative Direction on October 17th. Included in the range are Reebok by Pyer Moss Collection 3 and the Experiment 4 “Fresco.”
With a design rooted in the idea of climbing to success in the face of adversity, the chunky silhouette features three layers comprised of mixed-materials representative of resilience, glamour and emotion. On the “Fresco” edition, the trail-inspired sole unit indulges in a black color scheme that also makes its way across the upper. Mudguards, however, introduce some frosted flair to the otherwise monochromatic arrangement. Lace guards, tongues and their complementary accents indulge in a rich blue hue, which hadn’t appeared on any of Pyer Moss’ projects with Reebok unlike the rich yellow on the inner lining and heel tab. All together, the latest from the mind of Mr. Jean-Raymond delivers a compelling footwear option while simultaneously amplifying the message of reclaiming what’s yours (Sankofa).
