Briefly teased in his epic “The lateral side of the Patta x Nike Air Max 1 Pure Platinum collab” music video that was shot all around the Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton Oregon, Drake’s NOCTA sub-label with Nike gets officially announced today. Inspired by the 6God’s noctural creative process, NOCTA has some unique potential as it already appears tantalizingly promising as the brand teases a bubble down jacket and matching winter apparel. For the Toronto-based rapper, a collaboration, let alone a dedicate sub-label, is a dream come true. “I remember watching all these athletes repping Nike — each doing the unthinkable — and how inspiring it was.”
In an op-ed penned by Drake himself, NOCTA is geared towards those who embrace the grind, who burn the midnight oil, and who don’t let the hours of the day dictate when work starts and ends. How that applies to wearable gear: “NOCTA is about creating something for people on the move. People who want functional, comfortable fits that are adaptable from one environment to the next.”
While no other details regarding Drake’s NOCTA Atletico and apparel have been revealed, Nike confirms a release date of December 19th, so you can certainly expect the brand to reveal more as the date arrives.
