Michael Le Outside of its tribute to the Roswell Rayguns, the Nike custom Air Flight ’89 has offered little these past few months. But, after recent reveals, it seems that is slowly beginning to change, the silhouette likely preparing a small roster to complement its brand new “Team Red” colorway.
Retro in its inspiration, the scheme leads first with its titular shade, placing it atop the Swoosh along the profile, the trims of the sole, and the outline of the forefoot paneling. And though it may see to the “Air” up at the tongue as well, it’s quickly offset by black-dressed calligraphy and matching eye stays. Elsewhere, the construction finishes in near full white, its leather panels interrupted little as it wraps the toe to the heel.
