Nike Zoom Vomero 5
The Nike Zoom Vomero 5 is a running sneaker first introduced in 2010 as an athletic sneaker under the “Bowerman Series.”
Following in a pattern we’ve seen plenty over the past decade, the Nike Zoom Vomero 5 was dormant for years until brought back via collab- in this case British imprint A-COLD-WALL. Via two initial Air, met with mixed reviews at the time, the decades-old silhouette was vaunted back into relevance, becoming a sleeper hit as they rolled out their first general releases in more than 15 years. However, the shoes failed to perform up to expectations, and it was shelved once again in 2019. Over the course of the ensuing two years, absence truly made the heart grow fonder, and sneakerheads at large began to find an appreciation for the retro runner.
With all that now in the rear view, 2022 can be viewed as the true starting point for the modern Nike Zoom Vomero 5. It has transitioned into the Nike mainline in earnest since then, now a widely accessible and widely worn sneaker. However, some drops, like the Nike Zoom Vomero 5 “Chrome” become sell-out events. In 2024, the model is a centerpiece of Nike’s tech runner strategy. New colorways continue to hit shelves each passing month- take a look just ahead for our latest on those fresh editions, including release free and store links.
