There has been much speculation in recent years over when and if images nike SB would finally start retro-ing some of their classic Dunk designs. With the SB line noticeably losing some steam as of late, it looks like that time might finally be here. Some new images just popped up of a 2012 reproduction of the “Danny Supa” Dunk Low, one of the legendary members of the inaugural SB Dunk family back in 2002. Perhaps to honor the 10 year anniversary of the shoe and the SB line, this sample version indicates a Fall 2012 arrival, but there has been no official confirmation at this time, so we’ll have to wait a bit longer to find out if these will make it to retail. As you can see, the leather on the orange sections of the upper has been swapped for a more textured alternative, most likely as a way to easily differentiate between the OG and the Retro much like we’ve seen with minor material and detail variations on many Air Jordan Retro models. Get a better look after the jump and let us know if you’ll be making moves for these if they hit store shelves in the coming months. Photos: lacebag
UPDATE: It appears that we’ve been duped by a super thorough custom job by jwdanklefs that went so far as to even create a bogus sample tag for his Supa reanimation. Looks like it’s not quite time for SB Dunk Retros yet, but stay tuned, because you never know what the future will hold. Info via NK.
